About us
Our Story — 75 Years of Service
Since our founding in 1950, Royal Canadian Legion Branch #255 has been woven into the fabric of West Edmonton. What began as a gathering place for returning veterans has grown into a thriving community hub that serves veterans, families, and all Canadians who believe in honouring those who served.
A legacy of service. A community united.
Today, we remain proud to carry on that 75-year legacy — welcoming new members, supporting veterans in need, and ensuring that the memory of Canada's fallen is never forgotten.

Our Mission
To serve Veterans — including serving military and RCMP members — and their families. To promote Remembrance. To serve our communities and our country.
Who Is a Veteran?
A Veteran is any person who is serving or has served in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), the Commonwealth or its wartime allies, as a Regular Member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), as a Peace Officer in a Special Duty Area or on Special Duty Operation, or who served in the Merchant Navy or Ferry Command during wartime.

Jasper Place Legion Branch
#255 Ladies’ Auxiliary welcomes you!

The Ladies' Auxiliary is a volunteer based non-profit organization operated separately from The Royal Canadian Legion...but together they thrive.
The Ladies' Auxiliary originated during the First World War when women were asked to help wounded Veterans returning home, and to provide supports for their families. When The Canadian Legion was established in 1926, these women were a welcomed addition at Legion Branches as they continued the tradition of volunteering to support the ongoing needs of ex-service personnel and to enrich the programs and activities of the Branch.
Members of the Ladies' Auxiliary support the aims and objectives of The Royal Canadian Legion and today they are a vital and integral part of the work of the Legion. Major contributors to the day-to-day life of Legion Branches, Ladies' Auxiliaries provide financial and volunteer support to Legion programs. The Ladies' Auxiliaries are coordinated at the Branch level. Any woman who is eligible for membership in the Legion may choose to become a member of the Ladies Auxiliary only, or a member of both organizations.

Our Community Role
Beyond veterans' advocacy, Branch #255 actively supports seniors, youth groups, cadet organizations, local charities, and West Edmonton neighbourhood initiatives. Our hall hosts events, fundraisers, and community gatherings year-round — a true meeting place for the neighbourhood.
